Hospice Billing Changes – Medication Changes

We have added a new activity type under patients called a “Billing Sheet.”  This new billing sheet will give you the ability to include the Hospice medication changes in the ANSI 5010 billing that will become a requirement as of April 1, 2014.  Only certain revenue codes will appear in the drop downs boxes when a user is in the billing sheet.  There is a new check box in services labeled “Allow to show on Billing Sheets” which if checked, will allow the revenue code to be available in the billing sheets.  There is also a new check box in services labeled “Do not post to Accounts Receivable” to give users the ability to make sure charges for medication changes included in billing do not post to to accounts receivable.

Missouri Alliance for Home Care Fall Risk Assessment Added

The Missouri Alliance for Home Care [MAHC 10] Fall Risk Assessment has been added to the clinical software.  When in assessments under the Living Arrangements section, when you press the Fall Risk Assessment button you can choose the current fall risk assessment or the MAHC 10 fall risk assessment.

OASIS Update 1/8/2014

Some agencies have reported that the 2014 PPS episode amounts are only showing the supply dollar amounts.  If this is the case you will have to do another update to version 5386.  The 2014 case mix weights did not get incorporated into your HHC3000 software.

Important OASIS Update

All agencies will need to update to Version 5383 which will be available today after 4:00 pm.  The HIPPS code calculations for OASIS assessments are correct but the total episode dollar amounts being calculated were based upon 2013 PPS case weights instead of the 2014 PPS case weights, which had significant changes.  We apologize for any problems this may have caused.

Importing Lab Results

Patient “Grid”

On the main screen of the HHC3000 software you will see a small button on the Patients button labeled “Grid.”  This is an example of the screen that will soon be what shows when the patient button is pushed.  The reason for having to change to this screen is for HIPAA compliance, in that we need to start internally recording who is entering/viewing patient information.  Although the current format is often convenient for changing from one patient to another, the format does not lend itself very well to recording the information required for HIPAA compliance.

In this screen you will have to select the patient from the grid first, and then open up the patient screens.  We added some filters to the top of the grid that might be helpful in grouping patients.

Update on New Clinical Forms

We have completed the Speech Therapy assessments which we will be including in one of the updates this week.  We will inform you when that update is available.  We took the approach similar to the PT and OT Progress Notes except that there are more options in the type of assessment drop down box.  After selecting to add a visit assessment, you will select to add Speech Therapy.  Once inside the speech therapy assessment, the first field is the “Type of Assessment.”  The drop down options will include:  ST Progress Note, ST Dysphagia Visit , ST Cognative Language Visit, ST Speech Language Visit, ST Functional Assessment, ST Evaluation Assessment.

A new Pediatric/New Born assessment is nearing completion and will become available hopefully next week.  Next on our priority list for clinical forms are a Hospice Bereavement Assessment and a Spiritual Assessment.
